Propanediol + Hyaluronic Acid → Hydration System
A strong pairing for hydrating serums and gels. Propanediol contributes humectancy and may also assist with ingredient dispersion depending on the HA grade.
Propanediol + Glycerin → Multi-Humectant Hydration
Combines two effective humectants. Using both can help formulators achieve hydration without relying on a high concentration of glycerin alone.
Propanediol + Niacinamide → Hydrating Barrier-Care Serum
Excellent for lightweight daily serums and moisturizers focused on hydration, barrier support and more even-looking skin tone.
Propanediol + Panthenol → Hydration + Conditioning
Useful in both skincare and haircare formulations.
Propanediol + Allantoin → Hydrating & Comfort-Focused Care
Suitable for moisturizers, gels and products intended for dry or sensitive-feeling skin.
Propanediol + Aloe Vera Extract → Lightweight Hydrating Gel
Particularly useful for gel moisturizers, after-sun products and soothing skincare concepts.
Propanediol + Ceramide Complex → Barrier-Support Formulation
Combines water-phase humectancy with barrier-supporting lipids in an appropriately emulsified system.
Propanediol + Squalane → Humectant + Emollient System
Propanediol supports water-phase hydration while Squalane provides lightweight emollience.

Best Beauty Resista Formulation Concepts
For a Hydrating Facial Serum:
Propanediol 3–5% + Glycerin 2–3% + Hyaluronic Acid 0.1–0.3% + Panthenol 1–2%
This provides a multi-humectant hydration system rather than relying on one humectant alone.
For a Hydrating Barrier-Support Serum:
Propanediol + Niacinamide + Hyaluronic Acid + Panthenol + Allantoin
This is a particularly good Beauty Resista combination for hydration + softness + barrier support + skin comfort.
For a Barrier-Support Moisturizer:
Propanediol + Glycerin + Ceramide Complex + Squalane + Niacinamide + Panthenol + Hyaluronic Acid
This combines humectants + emollients + barrier-supporting ingredients for more complete moisturization.
Formulation note: Propanediol is not a complete preservative by itself. Although it can influence the formulation environment at some concentrations, water-containing products still require an appropriately designed preservation system unless validated otherwise. Its ability to dissolve an active or extract is also ingredient-specific, so do not assume every water-soluble or botanical ingredient will dissolve in Propanediol without testing.
