Murumuru Butter

Nourishment for damaged-looking hair and creating luxurious DIY skincare and haircare formulations

Beauty Resista Murumuru Butter is a nourishing botanical butter derived from the seeds of the Murumuru palm (Astrocaryum murumuru), a palm native to the Amazon region of South America.

Murumuru Butter has a distinctive fatty-acid composition that is typically rich in lauric and myristic acids, along with other fatty acids. This composition gives the butter excellent emollient properties and makes it particularly valuable in both skincare and haircare formulations.

For skin, Murumuru Butter helps soften dry, rough and moisture-depleted areas while providing a protective emollient layer that helps reduce moisture loss. It can be incorporated into body butters, moisturizers, hand creams, foot creams, lip balms, body balms and other intensive moisturizing products.

Murumuru Butter is particularly attractive for haircare formulations. Its conditioning properties help improve the softness, smoothness and manageability of dry, rough, frizzy and damaged-looking hair. It can be used in conditioners, deep-conditioning masks, hair butters, leave-in creams, styling balms and pre-shampoo treatments.

Compared with some heavier-feeling botanical butters, Murumuru Butter can provide a smooth, conditioning texture that works particularly well in formulations where both richness and good spreadability are desired.

It pairs beautifully with Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Marula Oil, Avocado Oil and Squalane for conditioning applications and can be combined with Shea Butter, Mango Butter or Kokum Butter to modify the firmness, richness and sensory profile of an anhydrous product.

Suitable for body butters, creams, lotions, balms, lip products, hand and foot care, conditioners, hair masks, hair butters, leave-in products, styling balms and other DIY cosmetic formulations.
